After months of analysis, mock drafts and player breakdowns, the 2017 NBA Draft is finally here, and it could be one to remember. Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum and the rest of the lottery-bound prospects will generate plenty of buzz over the course of the night, but trades and trade rumors will have their say too.

This week has already seen a flurry of activity, including trades of D’Angelo Russell, Dwight Howard and this year’s No. 1 pick. And those are just the deals that actually went down. There’s still plenty of buzz about Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis and more. As everything comes together on Thursday, keep it here for live updates throughout.

NBA Draft 2017

Who will go No. 1 overall? Markelle Fultz appears to be the most likely option after the Celtics swapped draft positions with the Philadelphia 76ers over the weekend in a move that brought them a haul of future assets. Hometown favorite Lonzo Ball is the likely selection for the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 2, but everything after that becomes a mystery.

That’s when the real fun begins.
A year ago, the Portland Trail Blazers had exactly zero picks in the NBA draft.
This year, the Blazers have three first-round picks which brings a wealth of options and some significant decisions to make.
Portland have the No. 15, No. 20 and No. 26 selections.

Finishing Game 3 with 39 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, James is averaging a double triple for the series. The best player in the NBA is scoring 32 points per game with 55.4 percent of shots, and still might not be enough to make Cleveland just win.

Cavaliers vs Warriors Live

The Cavs have been unable to get great performances from their three stars at the same time. James has been great in all competitions, although he did not receive help in the first match of the series. Love scored 27 points in the second game, as Irving had more shots than points. Irving set a show with 38 points in Game 3, but Love made only a field goal.

Even if James, Love and Irving find a way to click Cavs vs Warriors Game 4, they will still have to keep up with perhaps the biggest offense the league has ever seen. Friday is 228.5 plus / minus, and the Warriors are averaging 121 points per game in this series.

Kevin Durant is on his way to winning the MVP of the NBA Finals Cavs vs Warriors with 34 points per game and the highest shot of the series. Stephen Curry is almost averaging a double triple with 28.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game. To make matters worse for the Cavs, Klay Thompson has found the shooting that he had previously lost this postseason, scoring 52 points in just 30 shots in the last two games.

Expect another big James game, and Cleveland is not going to go down without a fight, but it probably will not be enough to keep his championship hopes now slim alive.

Will Cleveland be able to make this a series? Find out by watching it all unfold on ABC’s nationally televised broadcast, or live-stream the game online at Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have discovered an on-court chemistry in the playoffs that took them nearly the entire regular season to realize. Durant’s addition to a 73-win Golden State Warriors team sometimes left Curry taking a backseat to the four-time scoring champ early in the season, but the playoffs have been a different story as the duo has powered Golden State to a 14-0 start.

Warriors vs Cavs Live

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked about the journey his two superstar players have taken in order to get to the point where their games are in perfect harmony. The reigning coach of the year pointed to the transition LeBron James and Dwyane Wade underwent in order for their talents to mesh with the Heat.

“The example I would probably give you would be like Miami with Wade and LeBron,” Kerr told reporters Tuesday. “I think that was a much tougher transition because you’re talking about two guys who generally in their careers to that point had been kind of point forward types, neither one was really a three-point shooter at the time.

“So they had – it took them a good year, I thought, to figure out how to play together. And then they did it beautifully.

“But with Steph and K.D., you’re talking about guys who handle the ball, who shoot from range, who cut, who are kind of used to playing off the ball, so that the transition I think was pretty smooth. It did take a little bit of time, but for the most part their talents fit together pretty naturally.”

Cavs vs Warriors Live

Curry has led the Warriors in scoring in the postseason, averaging 28.8 points while shooting 50 percent from the floor, 43 percent from deep and 92 percent from the free-throw line. Durant has also been lethal in the playoffs, averaging 26.9 points, on 56 percent shooting from the floor, 44 percent from beyond the arc and 88 percent from the line.

Cavs vs Warriors: The Cavs are getting a firsthand look at the chemistry Curry and Durant have developed, and it’s led Cleveland to two demoralizing losses as the defending champs face a virtual must-win Game 3 on Wednesday. Kevin Durant and LeBron James are currently giving each other their best shot as they battle for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, but not too long ago the NBA superstar duo teamed up not on the court but in the studio.

Cavs vs Warriors Finals

Durant and James reportedly recorded a rap song in 2011, and a recording company in Ohio named Spider Studios is giving fans a brief taste of what it sounds like.

The studio apparently will release the entire song if the tweet gets 1 million likes. Less than 24 hours after sending it out amid reports of the existence of the song Monday, it has received nearly 4,500 likes, a far cry from the studio’s goal. It’s been widely assumed around the NBA since the draft lottery that the Lakers will select hometown kid Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick, but a report emerged over the weekend claiming that some within the Lakers organization weren’t convinced that Ball will be a star in the NBA.

According to Colin Cowherd, there’s a reason that story leaked ahead of the NBA Draft — and the Lakers were behind it. The Lakers want the Celtics to think they aren’t interested in Lonzo Ball
“Never forget that when a story breaks early, there’s a reason a story breaks early.

“This weekend, a ‘source’ says the Lakers expect to have Lonzo Ball for a solo workout, but that they are not sold on Lonzo Ball. That was a report this weekend.

“That’s cute. What’s the story behind the story?

“The Lakers want that story out.”

Boston could put the Lakers into a tough position
“The Lakers don’t want to appear desperate for Lonzo Ball. They don’t want to appear locked into Lonzo Ball, because the Celtics have the No. 1 pick. They are, historically, their arch-rival — and Magic, Rob Pelinka and the Lakers don’t want to get used by the Celtics, who could threaten to take Lonzo [and] put the Lakers in a very precarious position. “That’s number one. Number two is that LaVar Ball… he already has leverage. He has the prized asset, his son. The Lakers want to keep their distance. They don’t want to have to give him suites, seats, parking spots, any demands. They don’t want to give him any, any leverage before the draft.” “So there’s a story out there that the Lakers are ‘not sold’ on Lonzo Ball…. Let me tell you something. Do you know why this is leaking? This is leaking because Lonzo Ball has the leverage, not the Lakers.

“You think the Lakers have the leverage? No, they don’t. Lonzo Ball has the leverage here. He is instant commerce. Lonzo’s going to have a nice career without the Lakers. The Lakers have not had momentum in years, that’s why they signed Kobe Byant (in 2013). Time Warner was demanding they give them a star, because Time Warner pays the Lakers a lot every year. It’s a massive deal. Time Warner said ‘Sign Kobe or no money, we’re not signing a deal.’ The Lakers need Lonzo, both for business and basketball
“Lonzo Ball has all the leverage here. He is commerce. The Lakers will set every NBA summer league attendance and TV rating record if Lonzo Ball is a Laker.

“So this report that the Lakers aren’t interested, or are not locked in to Lonzo Ball is laughable. They need him more than he needs them.”

Three things to see …

We had a very good feeling that this would happen, that the Cavs and Warriors would meet for the third time in the NBA Finals but had never happened before in the history of the game. Best teams of the conference and which was highlighted by the unbeaten Warriors through the first three rounds of the playoffs and the Cavs lose a single game.

2017 NBA Final Game 1 Live

Cleveland and Golden State can now solve a great debate and is the team that has the biggest reason to complain about the end they have lost. What team is closer to being twice defending champions? The Cavaliers went 2-1 in 2015, did not have Kevin Love in the entire series and only due to Kyrie Irving for Game 1, but he lost in six games. The warriors went 3-1 in 2016 before Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5. Then they lost the series. Hopefully this series gives no other reason to cry.

Durant joined the fun

Although these teams meet for the third time, this series will have a huge difference. Indeed, Kevin Durant, a former player par excellence, joined the Warriors who had won 73 games last season and led the Cavs to seven games. Durant Will increase the series, or maybe even help the Warriors win easily? Some predict that certainly.

Durant played outstanding basketball in the playoffs. It is on average 25.2 shooting points a 55.6 percent ridiculous, of which 41.7 percent of three. Someone has to stop the Cavs.

The Cavs are on fire

Let’s see if the long layoff affected them, but the Cavaliers were shooting at an incredible speed three in their first 13 playoff games. They have a 43.5 to three point team. For some background, he would be fourth in the NBA this past season between individual players. Add in the fact that the Cavs are doing this in over 33 attempts per game and is very impressive.

Speaking of this, pay attention to love. The first series between these teams was lost and it was terrible last year when it averaged only 8.5 points 36.2 percent of the field. With 13 games in the playoffs, he set up 17.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and pulled 47.5 percent of the three. This seems an opportunity for redemption.

Golden State Warriors

This is the Golden State Warriors’ third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. With the acquisition of free agent Kevin Durant in the offseason, the Warriors were hailed as a “Superteam” by the media and fans, forming a new All-Star “Big Four” of Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

The team equaled their 2014–15 regular-season record of 67–15, their second most wins in franchise history. They won the Pacific Division title and Western Conference Championship for the third consecutive season. The club became the fastest team in NBA history to clinch a playoff berth, achieving the feat on February 25, 2017.[4] They also became the first team in NBA playoff history to start 12–0, sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference semifinals, and the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals.[5] Entering the Finals, this twelve game win-streak tied third for the most consecutive wins in the postseason.

Cleveland Cavaliers

This is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, and fourth appearance overall, seeking to repeat as NBA champions. This will also be the seventh consecutive NBA Finals appearance for LeBron James, and the sixth for James Jones (who technically qualified for the 2011 NBA Finals along with James, but did not play).

The Cavaliers finished the 2016–17 regular season with a 51–31 record, securing the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. In the playoffs, the Cavaliers swept the Indiana Pacers in the first round, swept the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and defeated the Boston Celtics in five games in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Curry saved his best for when it mattered the most Monday, scoring 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting in overtime alone, per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated. The Trail Blazers as a team scored 14 points in overtime but couldn’t keep up with No.

All this came on a day when Marc Stein of reported Curry will be named the MVP for the second straight year, and he looked the part during Golden State’s win.

He did receive some help from his running mates, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Green finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, seven blocks, five assists and four steals in an incredible all-around effort, while Thompson added 23 points behind five made three-pointers.

The Trail Blazers received 36 points and 10 assists from Damian Lillard and 24 points from C.J. McCollum, but it was not enough to overtake Curry in the extra period.

While he was unstoppable in overtime, Curry didn’t start the game, and Portland took full advantage as it seized a 16-2 lead before he even stepped onto the floor.

The Trail Blazers extended the lead to 21-5, but Curry’s presence helped Golden State trim the deficit to 26-18 by the end of the first quarter.

Warriors vs Trail Blazers: The Warriors and Blazers series may be a No. 1 seed vs. a No. 8 seed, but it gave us one of the best games from opening weekend of the NBA playoffs. Their matchup on Sunday wasn’t a game you could turn off at halftime due to a Warriors blowout. No, the Blazers hung around all game, with C.J. McCollum scoring 41 points and Damian Lillard dropping 34 of his own.

It took a near triple-double from Draymond Green, 32 points from Kevin Durant, and 29 points for Stephen Curry for the Warriors to keep the Blazers away. This is still a series where Golden State is highly favored, but we are excited for battles between these two offenses.

Golden State enters the playoffs not only as the two-time defending Western Conference champions but also a heavy favorite to make the NBA Finals for a third consecutive season as the league’s top overall seed.

Warriors vs Trail Blazers Live Stream

The 67-win Warriors dispatched the Trail Blazers four straight times during the regular season, winning twice by 23 or more points and once at Portland without Stephen Curry. But last year’s 4-1 series win over the Trail Blazers in the conference semifinals was anything but a cakewalk.

The Warriors enjoyed just an 8 1/2-point average margin of victory in the series, and that included a seven-point overtime win in Portland in Game 4 when the upstart home team had the chance to tie the series at 2-2.

“I like our chances,” Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard boasted before his club flew into Oakland. “It’s going to be an exciting series. We have a chance to go take a shot at the best team. Why not go in and shock the world?”

One of the big differences between the Warriors and Trail Blazers this season was in 3-point defense. Both teams shot well from beyond the arc, but only one defended the shot well.

The Warriors (38.3 percent) ranked third and the Trail Blazers (37.5) a comparable sixth in the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage. But while Golden State (32.4) had the best defense in the league against 3-pointers, the Trail Blazers (37.0) were better than just three teams, ranking 27th.

Those numbers were represented in the two meetings in Oakland, when the Warriors outscored the Trail Blazers 81-60 on threes. The Warriors connected on 27 of 64 (42.2 percent) of their 3-pointers in those games while the Trail Blazers (37.0) hit 20 of 54.

The clubs haven’t met since Jan. 29, which means the Warriors could very well be seeing a different-looking opponent. After all, Portland was just 21-28 after a 113-111 home loss to Golden State on that date, then rallied to win 20 of its final 33 games to edge out Denver for the final playoff spot in the West.

One reason for the surge has been the addition of center Jusuf Nurkic in a trade with Denver. He averaged 15.2 points and 10.4 rebounds in 20 games before suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right leg on March 30.

Nurkic hasn’t played since, and the Trail Blazers have been secretive regarding his possible availability for any part of the series.

The Warriors have prepared game plans to combat Portland with and without the big man in the lineup.

“They’re a different team than the last time we played them,” Warriors defensive ace Draymond Green noted after the matchup was set earlier this week. “Obviously, we don’t know if Nurkic will be back or not, but they’re also a different team with him not in there. They’re playing with a lot more confidence. They’re feeling really good about themselves.”

A visit to Oakland means a homecoming for Lillard, a former standout at Oakland High. The returns rarely have had happy endings.

Lillard has gone just 1-7 in his regular-season games in Oakland, scoring 38 and 37 points, but also totaling 20 or fewer on 37-for-103 shooting (35.9 percent) on the other six occasions.

The NBA playoff standings for the 2017 season continue to shift in the final week. With the NBA Playoffs 2017 set to begin shortly, there is still a battle for not only the eighth seed in both conferences but also for the No. 1 seed in the East. The Cleveland Cavaliers came away with a huge victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night (April 5), but the Cavs still have some work to do to clinch homecourt advantage. With four games left, they are just one-and-a-half games ahead of the Celtics.

In the updated NBA standings, the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, and Miami Heat are all battling for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls hold a tiebreaker with the Pacers, but both teams are only half a game ahead of the Heat for a playoff spot. It’s going to come down to the final regular season games for each of these teams, and the 2017 NBA playoff standings could still shift quite a bit.

The Bulls have a decided advantage over the Pacers and Heat, as the team still has two games left against the lowly Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have the worst record in the entire NBA, suggesting two easy wins and a playoff spot for the Bulls. Equally important are the races for the No. 3 seed between the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards, as well as the battle for the No. 5 seed between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks.

2017 NBA Playoff Standings (Eastern Conference)

1. Cleveland Cavaliers (51-27)
2. Boston Celtics (50-29)
3. Toronto Raptors (48-31)
4. Washington Wizards (48-31)
5. Atlanta Hawks (40-38)
6. Milwaukee Bucks (40-39)
7. Chicago Bulls (39-40)
8. Indiana Pacers (39-40)
9. Miami Heat (38-40)

The Golden State Warriors were receiving a strong challenge from the San Antonio Spurs for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, but the Warriors have since started to really pull away. In the latest NBA playoff standings, the Warriors have actually clinched that top seed, earning homecourt advantage through the entire 2017 NBA Playoffs. That would even include a matchup in the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers again.

An intense battle for the No. 4 seed in the West is taking place between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers. Only half a game separates the two teams, but the Clippers know how important it would be to clinch homecourt with the fourth seed. It’s tough to play in Utah, and the Clippers have not been a great road team. These two teams are already set up for a first-round matchup in the NBA playoff standings, with only the homecourt left to decide.

The Portland Trail Blazers recently took the No. 8 seed away from the Denver Nuggets and have pushed it to a one-and-a-half games lead. The Blazers have been playing inspired basketball in the second half of the NBA season, but the recent injury to starting center Jusuf Nurkic has been hard for the team to deal with. While a report by CBS Sports had stated that Nurkic would miss the rest of the regular season, it’s still possible that he could return in time to participate in the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

2017 NBA Playoff Standings (Western Conference)

1. Golden State Warriors (65-14)
2. San Antonio Spurs (60-18)
3. Houston Rockets (53-25)
4. Utah Jazz (48-30)
5. Los Angeles Clippers (48-31)
6. Oklahoma City Thunder (45-33)
7. Memphis Grizzlies (42-37)
8. Portland Trail Blazers (39-40)
9. Denver Nuggets (37-41)

If the current NBA playoff standings remain the same, the first-round matchups in the Western Conference are the Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, and Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Clippers. The first-round matchups in the Eastern Conference project to be the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors vs. Milwaukee Bucks, and Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks.

There is still about a week of games left to be played before the 2017 NBA Playoffs tip off, presenting an opportunity for the standings to still shift a bit. As it currently stands, there are some very good matchups projected from the NBA playoff standings, suggesting this postseason could be filled with some great games.Copy source
